Zelenskyi met with the heads of three states and American congressmen in New York

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who is in New York, held meetings with the prime ministers of Japan and India, the president of Paraguay and the bipartisan delegation of the US Congress, the official website of the Ukrainian head of state reports.

At the meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, there was talk of cooperation with partners in the Group of Seven and the EU to “create a practical mechanism that will allow us to get $50 billion from frozen Russian assets.”

Volodymyr Zelenskyi also spoke about the current situation in the energy sector. Fumio Kishida said that Japan is preparing a new package of energy assistance, which will include transformers, generators and other equipment,” the report said.

With Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Zelenskyi discussed “the implementation of cooperation in the areas agreed upon during Modi’s historic visit” to Kyiv a month ago.

“Then it was about intensifying trade, economic and defense cooperation, involving India in post-war reconstruction, as well as interaction in the fields of education, science and culture. During the meeting, special attention was paid to strengthening cooperation on international platforms, in particular within the framework of the UN and the Group of 20, as well as the implementation of the Peace Formula and preparation for the second Peace Summit,” the website of the President of Ukraine indicates.

His Ukrainian colleague “told the President of Paraguay Santiago Peña about the situation on the battlefield and the results of the first Peace Summit.”

“You could not come to our first, inaugural Summit, but the Joint Communiqué is open for signature. You know that 11 countries of Latin America joined the inaugural Summit, and of course we really want Paraguay to join the communique as well,” said the President of Ukraine.

Members of the Senate Ben Cardin, Dan Sullivan, Christopher Murphy and member of the House of Representatives Gregory Meeks were present at Zelenskyi’s meeting with US congressmen. The President of Ukraine thanked “both parties and both houses of the US Congress, President Biden” for their support. “And, of course, we are here to thank your people,” Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.

“He spoke in detail about the situation at the front, the course of operations in the Kursk region, the needs of Ukrainian soldiers and the importance of timely delivery of defense packages. Particular attention was paid to the Victory Plan, which Volodymyr Zelensky will present this week to President Joseph Biden, the US Congress and both presidential candidates,” the website of the head of state informs.

A separate meeting with Zelenskyi will also be held at the White House at the same time by Kamala Harris, the vice president and candidate for the US presidency from the Democrats.
