“It is guaranteed that there will be additional systems. We have confirmation and support. There are not all 19 systems yet. But the number of systems guaranteed by partners is quite serious. We will work so that the systems arrive as soon as possible,” he said, answering questions from journalists in Italy.
Zelensky also noted that there are “very serious systems that we always talk about,” some of which are undergoing “restoration.”
“It’s a question of tools, how to quickly restore certain systems,” he added.
On January 9, at a meeting in the “Ramstein” format, Zelensky called on partners to urgently hand over air defense systems. He also discussed the issue of strengthening air defense with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
In December, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Ukraine needs 19 air defense systems to protect the energy sector from Russian strikes.
