There will be no restrictions or fines for firewood harvesting for Ukrainians.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.
“The high-profile parliamentary bill on fines for storing firewood will not be signed by the President of Ukraine,” he said.
At most, according to him, the state and the government will help Ukrainians who gather firewood to heat their homes in winter.
“After all, in rural areas, this is an important reserve, and sometimes the main fuel,” the prime minister explained.

In addition, the law provides for a fine for citizens for small volumes of wood – from 1 cubic meter. m, if they do not have documents confirming the origin of firewood.
The draft law voted by the Verkhovna Rada allows Ukrainians to store 30 cubic meters of pine firewood or 15 cubic meters of oak wood.
