The Head of State stated this in an interview with British journalist Pierce Morgan.
When asked by Morgan, whether Ukraine has a spare plan, if it is not able to enter NATO in the coming years, Zelensky began to think about protecting the country.
“Will rockets give us so much that we can stop Russia? I’m not sure. (…) And which missiles can stop nuclear missiles in Russia? This is a rhetorical question. Let’s then – give us nuclear weapons, ”the Ukrainian president said.
He also noted that otherwise partners should provide missile systems, assist with funding for the Million Army, and send our contingent to “the part of our country where we want to have stability.”
Earlier, Zelensky called a dull exchange of nuclear weapons to the Budapest Memorandum. “If I changed nuclear weapons, I would change to something very strong that can really stop any attacker, despite his grandeur, to his territory, to his army and so on. And this is a strong army and a security block. Therefore, I think it was stupid, absolutely stupid, illogical and very irresponsibly that’s how to change so, ”Zelensky said.
