Zelensky: Ukraine will receive funds from Russian frozen assets in 2026.

The leader of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, informed that already in the coming year 2026, financing from seized resources of the Russian Federation will become available for Ukraine. According to him, European countries confirm their readiness for such a move. The leader of the state announced this during his traditional evening speech.

– There is a political agreement in Europe to direct the frozen Russian resources to the comprehensive support of Ukraine, Ukrainians, and yesterday the European Council adopted political decision. There is an understandable way of using resources, and that way exists. Now we in Europe have agreed that this method should be implemented by the end of the year. In general, the trend in Europe is such that we are aware: the provision of funding for Ukraine, for our citizens, will be guaranteed next year, Zelenskyi said.

He also spoke about a number of agreements reached regarding support for the Ukrainian energy sector during the heating season. The President expressed his gratitude to the partners for their constant support of our state and the Ukrainian people.

– Today, Italy already has a solution – they are preparing a package to support our energy sector, thank you. There is a decision by Norway to provide funds for the purchase of gas, thank you. We have positive agreements with other states, our partners in Europe – the teams are currently working on their implementation. And we will cooperate with energy companies already with the new government of Japan – the new Prime Minister of Japan took part in the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing today, – said the head of Ukraine.

The President also emphasized that the partner states are increasingly accepting the Ukrainian vision regarding the need to use long-range weapons against the Russian Federation. “There are already new packages from our partners, and our long-range understanding is gaining more and more supporters,” he noted. According to Zelensky, this means that there will be more of our long-range accurate “direct action sanctions against the Russian war machine”.
