President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the EU to impose sanctions on Rosatom. He said this during a speech at a meeting of the European Council, UNN reports.

“Sanctions against Russia are increasing this year and it is very important to make progress in countering the Russian tanker fleet. We need to do everything to ensure that these vessels disappear from the waters of the European Union. Russia continues to export, we need to impose sanctions on Rosatom,” Zelensky said.

He emphasized that it is also very important to continue cooperation in the military-industrial complex in order to expand industrial capabilities.

Addendum

The Council of the EU adopted the 15th package of economic and individual sanctions to further restrict Russia’s ability to wage an illegal, unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine.

These restrictive measures are aimed at solving the problem of circumventing EU sanctions by targeting Putin’s shadow fleet and weakening the Russian military-industrial complex.
