“If there is peace, Ukraine will use this money for reconstruction,” the president added.
As reported, Belgium continues to resist the decision to confiscate assets. The Prime Minister stated that “have not yet seen a text that Belgium could agree to”.
However, the diplomats of the European Union states came to a preliminary agreement on the use of Russian frozen assets to provide Ukraine with a “reparation loan” in 2026-27, but the final decision must be taken by the leaders of the EU states at the meeting of the European Council.
