“The second security guarantees for Ukraine are European security guarantees, this is a “coalition of the willing” and most importantly, membership in the European Union. These are economic security guarantees for Ukraine. We want the 27th year, we are talking about a specific date when Ukraine will be ready,” the head of state said.
According to Zelenskyi, Ukraine will be technically ready to open all clusters in the first half of 2026, and in 2027 it will be fully ready for entry at the “technical level”.
“We want a specific date (accession to the EU – ed.) in our treaty on the end of the war, so that all parties will then adhere to these agreements, including the aggressor, who will sign the 20-point plan if such a moment comes,” added Zelenskyy.
What preceded: On January 8, Zelenskyi said that following the negotiations in Paris with the American side, the document on security guarantees for Ukraine is “actually ready” for approval by US President Donald Trump.
