Zelensky signed new sanctions against the Russian Federation and those who destabilize Moldova

On Saturday, September 20, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees that implement three new packages of sanctions against Russia and its associates involved in the war in Ukraine, as well as those who cause destabilization in Moldova. The head of state voiced this information during his traditional evening address.

– Today I signed the decrees on the implementation of new sanctions of Ukraine. Three sanctions packets were approved by me. In particular, these sanctions are directed against propagandists, who support Russia against various businesses in the occupied territories and fund the budget of Russia, supporting this criminal system, as well as against persons who destabilize Moldova in favor of Moscow. Ukraine supports Moldova, and we are interested in the stability of our neighbor – in the welfare of Moldova, – the President emphasized.

According to the President’s office, sanctions, in particular, were imposed against six propagandists, including Alexander Rogers, who publicly denied Ukraine’s existence and called for a change in the boundaries of our country. Senator of the Russian Federation Olena Mizulin, one of the authors of repressive laws, came under sanctions. In addition, Ukraine applied for sanctions against 11 public and political figures of Moldova, who support pro -Russian narratives and justify Russia’s aggression. Among them is Vasyl pain, which promotes the foreign policy of the Russian Federation in the media, and Dmitry Konstantinov, the head of the Gagauzi National Assembly, which openly repeats the abstracts of Russian propaganda. This solution is an important signal to support the people of Moldova in their aspirations for European integration, said in the VP.

The third resolutions on sanctions concern 66 individuals and 13 legal entities, including officials working in the occupying authorities in the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, representatives of the judiciary of Russia, who are related to human rights violations in Crimea, persons involved in the spread of Russian propaganda, as well as organizing.

• On September 10, Ukraine coordinated sanctions against the Russian Federation with the United Kingdom and expanded restrictions on companies and persons that contribute to the Russian military-industrial complex, energy and shadow fleet.
• On August 23, Zelensky signed a decree on sanctions against 28 foreigners that fund the occupation regime of the Russian Federation and the war against our country. Canada’s sanctions were also coordinated against 139 people who support Russian military aggression.
