President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed Law No. 4203-IX, which provides for a ban on seizure of bodies for transplantation from dead military or people who died as a result of armed aggression.
The card signed by the Head of State is published on the website of the Ukrainian Parliament.
According to the explanatory note, among other things, the law provides for a ban on the removal of organs for transplantation:
- in persons who have fallen (dead) as a result of the application of coercion measures by law enforcement, force and other structures;
- persons from the components of the defense forces and security forces who died in the performance of their duties in Ukraine or in some of its localities where martial law is introduced;
- persons who died (died) as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine.
According to the Verkhovna Rada press service, the document also clarifies the conditions for the automatic search of a pair of donor recipient in the Unified State Information Information System of Transplantation of Organs and Fabrics, and provides for the creation of the order of organization of transplantation on the Domino principle.
In addition, the law defines the creation of the National Transplantological Committee as an advisory body to the Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health). The Committee will have the authority to consider cases of adverse reactions during transplantation.
