The head of state announced this during a conversation with foreign journalists within the framework of the 3rd International Conference on Food Security “Grain from Ukraine”, the website of the Office of the President reports.
“I don’t know when the meetings will be, I don’t have a date… it depends on many things – not only on schedules, but also on the legitimacy of holding the respective meetings. If we want meetings at which some issues are resolved, then there must be appropriate legislative opportunities for this, the inauguration has passed,” Zelenskyy noted.
He noted that the negotiation process at the level of the teams continues and emphasized that many forces are currently trying to prevent a strong alliance between Kyiv and Washington.
President Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has every chance to end the war next year, it is necessary to hear new proposals of the new US president on the plan to end the war. Zelensky noted that this will be possible already in January.
“We are open, I will say once again, and by the way, to the leaders of African countries, Asia, and Arab states… We are ready to see their proposals. I also want to see the proposals of the new president of the United States of America. I think we will see these proposals already in January. And I think we will have a plan to end this war,” he said.
He also added that he did not want the Russian quality of disinformation to influence people, that we only have our plan and we do not want to hear from other partners from other continents. This is not true.
At the same time, the president emphasized that the global South will be on the side of Ukraine and on the side of the end of the war, when the USA will have a stronger position.
“I am sure that we have every chance to do it next year. There are appropriate steps for this… We understand that Russia will not take all these steps. But there is a UN charter and all our steps based on the UN charter will be supported by our partners,” Zelenskyi said.
