The Office of the President of Ukraine commented on the information published by the Financial Times about the US demand to organize elections by May 15.

In particular, they noted that due to constant shelling, as a result of which civilians, including children, are killed, it is not possible to announce elections in the coming weeks.
The message also states that Ukraine has started preparations for presidential elections and a possible referendum on a peace agreement with Russia after the administration of the previous US president, Donald Trump, put forward this demand.
The importance of the elections is emphasized by various political figures, but security remains a priority.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, in turn, also emphasized the importance of the elections, appealing to international partners for help in supporting the infrastructure for their holding.
