Vlad Cherevko I have been interested in various types of electronics and technologies since the early 2000s. I like to play computer games and understand the operation of various gadgets. I regularly follow the news of the technology world and write materials about it myself.
According to the Office of the President, Great Britain will start production of these devices for testing on the territory of Ukraine. In the case of successful completion of the tests, it is planned to scale up production both in Great Britain and at Ukrainian enterprises. According to Bloomberg, the country plans to produce about 2,000 OCTOPUS units per month at its facilities for delivery to Ukraine.
The OCTOPUS interceptor drone is the result of a joint defense project developed by Ukrainian engineers (in particular, the Ukrspecsystems company) with the active support of scientists and technical specialists from Great Britain. The main purpose of this interceptor is to combat enemy attack drones, primarily the Russian Shahed-136/Geran-2.
A key advantage of the OCTOPUS is its cost-effectiveness: it is estimated to cost less than 10% of the price of the targets it is capable of destroying, making it a viable alternative to expensive anti-aircraft missiles.

Britain’s Ministry of Defense is also eyeing OCTOPUS as the future basis for Europe’s “drone wall,” a permanent air defense system along NATO’s eastern border to counter Russian drones.
The OCTOPUS project became the first joint defense project within the framework of the new agreement between Ukraine and Great Britain on the exchange of military technologies. In the future, the countries are also planning to launch a joint production of planning bombs.
