Details: According to the President, important issues for Ukraine are: unconditional ceasefire, humanitarian issues regarding the return of stolen children, as well as the issue of “civil prisoners and journalists, political prisoners”. He emphasized the importance of returning them all home.
Negotiations with the Russian delegation are expected to begin around 13:00. Before them, the First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Kyslytsia and a member of the Ukrainian delegation Alexander Bevz coordinated positions with representatives of European partners of Ukraine – Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
What was before:
- The previous negotiations between Ukraine and Russia took place on May 16 in Istanbul. Then the parties agreed to exchange in the format “1000 to 1000”, after which they had to exchange their own visions of ceasefire and end of the war.
- Russia has traditionally violated the arrangements and refused to send its proposals.
