Zelensky made changes to the staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi made changes to the staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Staff. The corresponding decree No. 854/2024 of December 13 was published on the website of the head of state.

According to the document, the president introduced the recently appointed commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatoy, and the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Pavlo Palis, to the Staff.

By the same decree, the head of state removed Oleksandr Pavlyuk from the Stavka.

The decree enters into force from the day of its publication.

On November 29, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced at the results of the meeting of the Staff of the Commander-in-Chief that Mykhailo Drapaty was appointed as the new commander of the Ground Forces.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Mykhailo Drapaty headed the “South” operational group. He is known as one of the commanders who led the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region. In February 2024, he was appointed deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. And in May, he was appointed as the commander of the “Kharkiv” OTUV at the beginning of April 2024.

Previously, the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were headed by Oleksandr Pavlyuk, who was appointed to this position by the President on February 11, 2024. Before that, the Ground Forces were headed by the current Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Earlier, on November 29, Zelensky introduced the head of the State Special Communications Service, Oleksandr Potiy, to the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

On November 15, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Oleksandr Potiy as the new head of the State Special Communications Service. He replaced Yury Mironenko in the position.

The headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is an extraordinary body of the highest military leadership of Ukraine, which during the war carries out strategic management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations of the state.
