Zelensky noted that the majority of the Brazilian people support Ukraine, and thanked him for that. At the same time, in his opinion, the President of Brazil, Lula da Silva – the country that currently chairs the G20 and hosted the summit – demonstrated a weak position on the war.
If we want good, normal relations between our nations, between our peoples, then, probably, we must first of all support people, not aggressors, leaders of aggression in the world, such as Putin, such as today’s, modern Russia
According to him, the weakness shown during the G20 summit gave the Russian dictator the opportunity to hit Ukraine with new missiles during the meeting of the G20 leaders.
I do not believe that populism can stop Putin. I don’t think cheap energy is going to protect your freedom in the long run. I think this is the wrong move
Volodymyr Zelenskyi also emphasized: when there will be strong statements, calls and steps, the Russian dictator will not be able to behave the way he is doing now.
In addition, the President noted that Ukraine raised the issue of reforming the UN Security Council due to its ineffectiveness.
Everyone is talking about it, but the reform of the UN Security Council is not happening. There are players who do not want any reforms, because otherwise their influence will be less,
The President of Ukraine added that every two or three months, Putin escalates on the front in order to raise the stakes and not sit down at the negotiating table. Without a clear position of major countries – the USA, Brazil, countries of Asia and Africa – the agreements with Putin will be a delay and the continuation of intimidation on the part of Russia.
At the same time, all steps proposed by Ukraine to end the war are based on the UN Charter. Our country hopes that its partners will support them.
