Also, the first Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy Boyev, as well as the commander of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Gennady Shapovalov, was introduced to the personal composition of the Supreme Commander -in -Chief of the same decree.
Gennady Shapovalov – Ukrainian military, was born in 1978 in the Kirovograd region. He graduated from the Tank Troops Institute in Kharkiv, later studied at the National University of Defense of Ukraine and was trained at the US Army College.
During the years of service, he went from the tank platoon commander to the commander of a separate infantry brigade named after Yakov Gandziuk. In March 2022, he was awarded the rank of brigade general.
In the spring of 2024 Shapovalov headed the operational command “ South ” and in February 2025 he was appointed representative of Ukraine with a NATO mission for military assistance and training ( Nsatu ) in Germany.
