On the eve of Christmas, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Zelensky thanked the Patriarch for supporting Ukraine and discussed the prospects for achieving a just peace. It is reported UNN.

He thanked His Holiness for the spiritual support of Ukraine and prayers for the Ukrainian people and congratulated the Patriarch on the coming holidays – Christmas and New Year. Ukraine is doing everything to make 2025 a year of just and lasting peace for our country and the whole world

The President indicated that Ukraine appreciates the steps taken by the Patriarchate to strengthen support for Ukraine among the world religious community and efforts to achieve spiritual independence for our state.

“I am grateful to Patriarch Bartholomew for wishing the Ukrainian people strength, courage and God’s blessing, as well as for the Christmas greetings,” the President added.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that no leader in the world has the right to negotiate an end to the war with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin without Ukraine.
