President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the appointment of Pavel Yelizarov to the position of Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He announced this in an evening address on January 19.

“There will be a new approach to the use of air defense by the Air Force – what concerns mobile fire groups, interceptor drones, and other means of “small” air defense. This system will be transformed. I approved the appointment of the new deputy commander of the Air Force – Pavlo Yelizarov. In the army, he is known as “Lazar”, a special unit that works, and works effectively. Together with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and the military command, a new organization for the entire component of such protection of the sky must be developed – and will be developed,” Zelenskyi said.
