The head of state Volodymyr Zelensky reported that a bill is being prepared in Ukraine, which gives protection and proper restoration of Ukrainians released from Russian captivity. The president said this in his traditional video.
– Today, however, he held a meeting on the results of a meeting with our people released from the Russian captivity. On Monday there was a meeting, very meaningful and many questions: rehabilitation after captivity, guaranteeing all rights, recovery of documents, social adaptation. A very sensitive question is the return of civilians from captivity, – said Zelensky.
Presidential Office Head Andriy Yermak reported on the decisions that have already worked out the coordination headquarters and are already being implemented. Also, according to the President, a bill is already being prepared, which gives protection, proper recovery after captivity – due to illnesses acquired in captivity. “And so, it is true that the help is the same as because of the diseases that were acquired during the service in defense,” Zelensky said. Also, according to the President, the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko reported on the rehabilitation of prisoners.
- On July 28, President Zelensky stated that since the beginning of the full -scale war, 5857 people managed to return from captivity, and another 555 people were out of exchange.
- On July 24, Ukrainian and Russian delegations have agreed to exchange more than 1,200 prisoners of war on each side.
