As a result of the attack of the Russian Federation on the energy system of Ukraine on December 23, Zaporizhstal suffered a complete blackout, which led to an emergency shutdown of production, the company’s press service reports.

“In extremely difficult conditions, the company’s team made an operational switch to alternative power sources and a subsequent safe stop of production processes in accordance with the anti-crisis regulations,” the message says.

“Zaporizhstal” claims that it was possible to avoid a man-made accident and reduce the level of emissions into the atmosphere. There is no threat to workers and citizens.

The company adds that the further recovery of production will take place after the restoration of external energy supply.

During the night, the Russian army massively attacked Ukraine with drones, and in the morning the Air Force reported the launch of missiles by Russia as well.

According to the Air Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russian military launched a combined attack on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine on the night of December 23, using 38 missiles and 635 UAVs of various types, about 400 of which were “Shahedy”.
