The Verkhovna Rada today elected Yulia Sviridenko as a prime minister-it was supported by 262 MPs.
Thus, she became the second woman in the history of an independent Ukraine headed by government and the first for the last fifteen years.
Prior to the appointment of Sviridenko, she worked as the first Viceremer and Minister of Economy, as well as responsible for key projects – from EBOTs to negotiations with the IMF and the EU.
Parliament states that the decision to change the government is due to several factors, including the need for “renewal” and an increase in public tension.
It is worth noting that Yulia Sviridenko is considered close to the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak.
We will remind, Zelensky called the new head of Ukroboronprom.
Zelensky also submitted to the Council Schmigal’s candidacy for the post of Minister of Defense.
