“Young guys are put in the ground where they do not need” – a resident of Kurschyna was fined for “discrediting” the army of the Russian Federation

In the Kursk region of the Russian Federation Kurchatov city court fined 30 thousand rubles a 39-year-old resident of Kurchatov Lyudmila Leonov in the administrative case on “discrediting” of the Russian army-through a comment on the social network “VKontakte”. This was reported by the press service of the courts of Kursk region.

Leonov’s comment left in the Kurchatov community. One of her children is a military man who participates in the war against Ukraine. The woman told “Mediazoni” that the comment was that “young boys were put in the ground where they do not need.”

“In principle, I knew that the comments were tracked (by security forces). Unfortunately for her homeland, she wanted to pay attention to problems – as a result, they suggested that the mouth close and put 30 (thousand rubles) in favor of the state. And I have a child with a disabled child and a salary of 28 thousand. I can only smile – it’s Russia. There was nothing in my criminal words. Just the truth told how it was. It turns out that we can not even think about this in the country, all white and fluffy, ”she said.

Articles on criminal and administrative responsibility for “discrediting” and “fakes” about the army appeared in Russia in March 2022, after the start of a full -scale war against Ukraine. The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) decided that these laws violate the right to freedom of expression.

According to the ECtHR, the restriction on the dissemination of information on the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine was systemic and widespread, which testifies to coordinated efforts to suppress dissent, and not to counteract any threat to national security.
