“Some people’s deputies seem to be confused in matters of national security, national interests and the future of the country. If in their minds national interests = the defeat of Ukraine, then they are making a big mistake in the interests of the Russian Federation,” Yermak wrote in his Telegram channel.
He called the implementation of Ukraine’s victory plan and the Peace Formula, previously presented by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the path to a just peace.
People’s deputy Yevgeny Shevchenko later called on Yermak “not to eliminate or harass people’s deputies” and stated that his position is allegedly no different from the position of US President-elect Donald Trump.

The day before, Shevchenko, who was previously expelled from the Servant of the People faction, called on Zelenskyi to “start a dialogue.”
“I’ll help if anything. I will go to Minsk again. We will solve everything. You are just getting started,” he wrote.
Last year, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that he was involved with People’s Deputy Yevgeny Shevchenko to communicate with Oleksandr Lukashenko.
In May 2021, people’s deputies from the “Servant of the People” faction in the Verkhovna Rada supported the expulsion of Yevgeny Shevchenko from the faction by a majority of votes. This happened after he met with Alexander Lukashenko in April of the same year. The faction then declared that he was not delegated to conduct any negotiations in Belarus.
