– Dyano, welcome. It was a prominent game. You go to the second round of Wimbledon for the third time, but probably, it is especially nice to do so by beating the current champion Rolan Garros
– First of all, I want to say that this court gives me many pleasant memories – this is where I played the finale of Junior Wimbledon. So it evokes my strong emotions.
I think it was a wonderful match. I was really “on fire” today and even a manicure with my lights (laughs). Playing against Coco is always something special. We have already played three times, now the fourth match and the score now 3–1, it is leading. She is a terrific tennis player and a wonderful person, we have a wonderful relationship with her, and I have a great pleasure in this meeting. Such courts are for big players, and I am very grateful for being here. Thank you for this support.
– In addition to supporting the stands, how much you gave you support box – Coach, teams, people who are near you? I know your team has a motto – “Believe in what you do.” How important is it in such moments?
– My team always believes in me. Today with me my coach Manu, Victoria (yoga coach), my mom, my agent, friends, partners from yonex. I got incredible support today. Of course, I did a lot on the court, but they did a huge job.
– This season was uneven, there were recessions. But then you played well in Istborne and Nottingham. To what extent did you add confidence to these tournaments before Wimbledon?
– Preparation for the grass segment I was not the best: I became ill, then there was a unsuccessful soil, I could not train for more than a week. Then I went to the court only 3-4 times, I trained on the grass for two days and immediately went out to the Nottingham finals. It was unexpected but I think I have a good season. I spent many cool matches, I really like to be on the court. I love playing the grass – it seems that this year we became friends with her. Hope my path is going on here. It is a great joy for me to be here.
The Ukrainian won Goff with a score of 7: 6 (7: 3), 6: 1. In the second round, Diana will fight against Anastasia Zakharova.
