WTA ranking. Kalinina returned to the top 50, Svitolina lost positions

The Women’s Tennis Association has published the first updated version world ranking in the new season. In the previous week, the girls competed at the WTA 500 in Brisbane and the WTA 250 in Auckland, while some also participated in the United Cup as part of their national teams.

There are no changes in the top ten. The world number one Arina Sobolenko won the trophy in Brisbane and strengthened her leadership. Iga Svyontek remained in the second position.

Coco Goff – third, Jasmine Paolini – fourth, Zheng Qinwen (who has not yet played in 2025) – fifth.

Clara Towson, who became the champion in Oakland, improved 9 positions to 41st. Naomi Osaka, who played in the finals of the competition in New Zealand, also moved up (+7 places) and now closes the top 50.

Top 10 of the WTA rating

Angelina Kalina, who reached the semifinals of Brisbane, can rightfully be called the best Ukrainian player of the past week. Thanks to her successful performances, Angelina climbed 7 lines in the rating, returned to the top 50 and is 48th.

Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska also played on the courts of Brisbane, but were eliminated in the very first match (performances began from the 2nd round). Despite the defeat, both Marta and Diana kept the 18th and 33rd places, respectively.

Titled Ukrainian Elina Svitolina has not yet started in 2025 and her first tournament will be the Australian Open. In the updated version of the rating, Elina lost 6 places and ranks 29th.

Anastasia Soboleva performed for the first time in her career in the qualification of the five-hundredth player (in Brisbane), where she won one match, but lost in the final selection. The 20-year-old Ukrainian improved 7 positions and is now on 209th place.

Yulia Starodubtseva performed in Oakland, where she withdrew from the very first match due to injury. Nevertheless, Yulia rose one place and now closes the top-100.

Katarina Zavatska also improved her position, while Daria Snigur, Lesya Tsurenko and Oleksandra Oleinikova lost positions.

Top 10 Ukrainian women in the WTA ranking

There have been several changes in the top ten of the WTA doubles ranking. In particular, Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok lost fourth place and now closes the top five.

Se Shuwei and Alyona Ostapenko were also assigned positions. The representative of Taiwan became the sixth, and the Latvian dropped to the 7th step.

Lyudmila is not the only Ukrainian tennis player who fell in the updated version of the doubles ranking. Nadia Kichenok and Marta Kostyuk, who are in the top 100, also lost positions.
