Two tennis players will represent Ukraine in the selection: Darya Snigur (WTA 136) [другий номер посіву] and Angelina Kalinin (WTA 179). They will face each other in the first round.
Previously, Daria and Angelina played with each other only once. In 2021, Snigur defeated Kalinin in the 1/16 finals of the 100,000 in Nottingham.
The meeting between Daria and Angelina will begin on January 31 at 3:30 p.m. Kyiv time. The winner of the match in the qualification final will fight either Alyona Bolshova (Spain, WTA 234) or Varvara Lepchenko (USA, WTA 146).
Ukrainian tennis players will play in Cluj-Napoca Oleksandr Oliinikov (WTA 92). Oliynikova will make her WTA tournament debut with a match against the 109th ranked player in the world Mayar Sherif from Egypt.
In 2025, Oleksandra played twice against Mayar on clay and exchanged victories with her. In the second round, Oliynikov can meet either Ella Seidel (Germany, WTA 82) or Anna Bondar (Hungary, WTA 74).
