WPT Tournament Record: New York Player Wins $1,160,000 With $1,100 Buy-in

Tournament WPT Prime Championship The $1,100 buy-in 2024 exceeded all expectations with 9,670 entrants and a prize pool of nearly $9.4 million – double the guaranteed amount. Zach VanCuren of Saratoga Springs, New York was the winner of this historic event, taking home a whopping $1,162,350.

“It seems unreal… I think it’s a lucid dream. Hopefully I’ll still be in reality in an hour. It’s just crazy,” VanCuren told reporters WPT after the victory “Wynn is probably my favorite casino in the country. And tournaments WPT – the best among all. It’s a real blessing to come here and compete.”

To the trophy WPT Prime Championship VanCuren added a gold bracelet WSOPwhich he won in July this year in a $3,200 ($219,450) buy-in online tournament.

In the deciding heads-up hand, AK’s VanKuren faced KJ’s Jim Casement all-in. The K845Q board gave VanCuren the win, while Casement took home $759,890 for second place, surpassing the $1 million mark in career prize money.

Among the participants of the final stages, such poker stars as the champion stood out WPT Justin Young (9th place, $114,000), four-time WSOP bracelet winner Farzad Bonyadi (74th place) and main event finalist WSOP 2023 Stephen Jones (61st place).
