She explained that now gender quotas in politics exist in more than 55 countries, and their size varies from 30 to 50%. They can be imposed by law or parties voluntarily committed such obligations.
In Ukraine, the movement in this direction also took place in some places. It is, in particular, the introduction of a gender quota in 40% on election lists. According to Shuliak, in the last pre -war elections to local councils, women were involved more actively. However, there were errors that should be taken into account in the next post -war elections. The purpose of this is to make the policy less closed. Including women.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine appointed a gender advisor to ensure mutual coordination between genera and types of troops and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as well as the development and implementation of a comprehensive gender strategy in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
