Social Security asks to recover from the woman the payments of IDPs received because she did not report her deposit account, the amount of which exceeds 100 thousand hryvnias
The woman received assistance to residence by internally displaced persons. Subsequently, it turned out that it has a deposit bank account, the amount of which exceeds 100 thousand hryvnias. The social security department asks to recover from it payments in the amount of UAH 6 thousand. This is stated in the decision of the Central District Court of the Dnieper, published on September 25, 2025.
In October 2023, the woman appealed to the Social Protection Department of the Selidov City Council with a statement of assistance to her residence for internally displaced persons. The statement was satisfied. In the future, it was found that she had lost the right to receive assistance, and therefore overpayment arose. The circumstances outlined were the reason for the court to recover from the exceeding of the paid assistance in the amount of UAH 6 thousand.
Consideration of the case The court found that on October 12, 20123, the woman appealed to the Social Security Department for a statement to assist her for residence for internally displaced persons. The application was satisfied, and from 01.10.2023 it received assistance on a monthly basis. During the current audit, it was found that as of 01.01.2024, the citizen had a deposit bank account, the sum of which exceeded UAH 100 thousand.
On July 30, 2025, the Social Security Department made a decision to stop the residence of the internally displaced persons against the woman, the maintenance of excess amounts paid. The amount of excess paid by the defendant is UAH 6 thousand. On August 2, 2024 and on January 14, 20125, the Social Security Department appealed to it with written requirements for the return of unreasonably received funds that it ignored.
What was the court decision? The court satisfied the claim. A woman in favor of the management of social protection of the population of the Selidov City Council will recover excessive assistance for living in internally displaced persons in the amount of 6 thousand hryvnias.
“The defendant did not inform the plaintiff about the fact that the deposit account was opened in the banking institution, which stored funds in the total amount exceeding 100 thousand hryvnias. In view of the above, the court considers the claim to be satisfied in the case,” the court stated.
