Within the framework of Istanbul agreements, new exchanges are expected, which will last for several days, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov said.

“Lists were formed by a single criterion – to save life. Within Istanbul arrangements, we expect new exchanges that will last for several days. We don’t forget any. And we continue our work until we return everyone, ”he wrote on Facebook.

Today, May 23, after the agreements reached at a meeting in Istanbul, Ukraine managed to return 390 citizens from Russian captivity.

The Coordinating Headquarters on the Defense of Prisoners of Pursuing specified that 270 military and 120 civilians were released:

“270 defenders are returning home – these are military personnel of the Armed Forces, including the Navy, DShV, TRI, as well as the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.”

Ukraine and Russia have agreed on the exchange of prisoners in 1000 by 1000 after negotiations of delegations of both countries in Istanbul on May 16.
