“President Putin issued an order within 10 minutes after a telephone conversation with the President (Trump – ed.), in which he ordered the Russian troops to attack no objects of Ukrainian energy infrastructure. And any attacks that happened last night would happen before this order was committed … I tend to believe that President Putin acts in good faith, ”the special representative said.
Witcoff says that Russian officials told him on Wednesday morning that seven of their drones were on the road when Putin ordered his order and were knocked down by Russian forces.
He is also convinced that in a few weeks in the war between Russia and Ukraine there will be a “complete ceasefire”.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that immediately after Russian leader Vladimir Putin, in negotiations with President Trump, announced the termination of strikes on energy facilities and infrastructure of Ukraine, Russia has almost 150 drones in the Ukrainian territory, impressing.
On the evening of March 18, Trump and Putin held almost two -hour telephone talks. According to the White House, they agreed that the movement to peace would begin with an “energy and infrastructure ceasefire, as well as technical negotiations on the introduction of a Marine truce in the Black Sea, complete ceasefire and constant peace.”
The Kremlin claims that Putin supported Trump’s idea of a monthly moratorium on mutual blows to energy infrastructure – “he positively responded to this initiative and immediately gave the Russian military the appropriate team.”
At the same time, Putin, according to the Kremlin, marked “a number of significant points” concerning the control of the cessation of fire throughout the line of combat clash, and also spoke about the need to “stop forced mobilization” in Ukraine and the Armed Forces.
The Russian President also called “a key condition for preventing escalation” the complete termination of foreign military assistance and exchange of intelligence with Kiev. At the same time, he did not mention the military support that Russia receives from North Korea, China and Iran.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, responding to Trump’s conversation with Putin on March 18, in particular, stated that “Putin will not allow the ceasefire to quickly be able to block us with the conditions.”
Zelensky allowed the US to agree with Russia to stop the strikes on the objects of FECs, but stated that if the attacks continue, Ukraine would respond to them.
