Will the NRC be able to take all the wounded soldiers out of the kill zone? Report of UP

At midnight, a gurney with another wounded soldier is hurriedly pushed to a checkpoint in one of the front-line towns of Donetsk region.

The medics there just in the corridor cut a pixel shape from him, under which an exhausted person weighing no more than 50 kilograms is hiding. At the same time, the paramedics who brought the man quickly describe his condition.

– Facial injury, open fracture and OSP (gunshot shrapnel wounds – UP)– lists the paramedic with the call sign “Lyalya”. – It’s good that it was delivered.

After that, the man is moved from the corridor to the anti-shock ward, where a dozen doctors and paramedics gather around him. They bathe his tiny body, hook him up to vital signs and begin to stabilize the wounded man. The man himself cannot speak, he fainted on the way to the checkpoint.

Doctors infuse the wounded with several portions of blood.

They “pump” his heart when it stops.

Behind the door anti-shock, there are no family members of the military – they probably don’t even know yet that their son, husband or father was injured near the settlement of N recently captured by the Russians.

But on the other side of the anti-shock and stab post, several dozen kilometers away, there are two or even three dozen people who have been rooting for this man and his desire to live since the beginning of the evacuation.

These are medics and engineers of the First Separate Medical Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who planned an entire operation to evacuate the wounded on the ground robotic complex “Maul”.

NRC “Maul” took the wounded soldier from the position and for several hours in an armored capsule drove him along field roads to the paramedics, who in turn took him to the stabilization point.

The time for robots has come.

In 2025, a dense kill zone was established on the front – this is the territory over which Russian FPV drones constantly fly and knock out the logistics of the Ukrainian military. “Knock out logistics” in human terms means “crash into all machines at 0 depth–5–10 kilometers from the front.” All of them, that is, even the evacuation vehicles, have special case trucks, too.

What to do in this case?

The first separate medical battalion offered its solution. He independently developed the first evacuation NRK in Ukraine, assembled a team of people who manage it, as well as medics who rescue the wounded. The preparation of one evacuation mission can take from one to three days. It is not always possible to pick up a wounded person the first time.

Why, in principle, are we talking about evacuating the wounded to the NRK? Because for a soldier who was seriously injured in a kill zone and cannot leave his position on foot, evacuation to the NRK is almost the only way to survive.

In a new report by “Ukrainian Pravda”, we will show who and from where controls the “Maul”, what a person driving inside this NRC feels, what can disrupt an evacuation mission and whether this drone will be able to close the issue of evacuating the wounded from the kill zone.
