Will go down in history. The Ukrainian referee will judge the match of the top team in the Champions League

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the match of the 5th round of the Champions League between Bayer Leverkusen and Austrian RB Salzburg will take place.

This match will be served by a Ukrainian team of referees, the official UEFA website reports.

The main referee of the meeting is appointed Mykola Balakin. Oleksandr Berkut and Viktor Matyash became his assistants. The Spanish Guillermo Cuadra and his assistant, the Italian Valerio Marini, will be responsible for VAR at the match. The fourth arbitrator is Vitaly Romanov.

The match “Bayer” – “RB Salzburg” is scheduled to start on November 26 at 22:00 Kyiv time.

Previously, Mykola Balakin officiated the match “Sparta” – “Brest” in the last round of the Champions League. Thus, he will become the first Ukrainian in history to work in 2 matches of the main stage of the Champions League.
