Why Natus Vincere this finale? Interview with the captain

Natus Vincere continues his successful comeback from a disappointing loss at the IEM Cologne finals, showing excellent form at ESL Pro League. In the semi-final match against G2, NAVI won 2-1, extending their unbeaten streak against the team to 8-0 since internationalizing the squad.

Captain NAVI, Alexi “Aleksib” Virolainen, after the victory, commented on the game and preparation for the final:

• “I could see that everyone had the right mentality before the third map. That’s why we won”

After winning the pistol round on the final map, NAVI were able to gain key momentum and keep their opponents from getting back into the game. This became the deciding factor in the second half of the third card. The team captain noted that this success had a big impact on the team’s confidence and the flow of rounds on the T-side.

• “Although we lost a few rounds, we immediately knew what to do next. I felt like some of the rounds we lost were in our pocket as well. That’s why we played a great T-side.”

Preparing for the final against Eternal Fire, Alexi shared his thoughts on the opponents:

• “They’ve been playing really hard throughout the tournament and we saw them beat Vitality. But we are also very hungry for victory and are ready to give all our strength in the final.”

The final match between NAVI and Eternal Fire will be the defining moment of their fight for another title in 2024.
