Inclusion Veterans, especially with serious injuries, require special working conditions. And it’s not just about ramps. In particular, they may require periodic treatment with a detachment from the workflow.

It does not frighten us, and we create such conditions for our veterans. Actually, inclusion should become a commonplace phenomenon in all employers without exception. But the defense here can and should be an example.

The book “Tribe” by Sebastian Junger describes that returning from the war, many veterans feel not only a injury of battle, but also a gap between the combat community and the individualistic, atomized, detached from reality civilian life. They do not find themselves in a society that does not have a common purpose, does not support their identity, and where competition is valued, not solidarity.

Veterans are accustomed to teamwork, community, mutual support and clear structure. In business, they manifest themselves in companies where there is a strong team culture. And there is a leadership, similar to military – clear, structured, with respect for the individual.

This is a challenge to civilian companies that plan to integrate dismissed servicemen. They need to build a clear structure with strong leadership, values, purpose. The structure in which the veterans will be comfortable. Unfortunately, the state and society are not doing enough to prepare businesses to work with veterans.

Communication Both heroes of my story have learned about our vacancies on the online platform Lobby X. But the best motivator is real examples of brothers.

It already works in veteran sports. If, a couple of years ago, dozens of athletes participated in regional competitions in adaptive sports, now the score goes to hundreds.

A veteran business can and should communicate with the brigades before the veterans are dismissed. Emphasize that servicemen have a professional future after being released from the troops that their skills and competencies are in demand. Living communication will be mutually useful for both the veteran community and business.

That is why I tell these stories. That those who have just returned do not feel confused. To see: they are expected not only with gratitude, but also with real work. For every veteran to know: their military experience is not just about the past. This is about the present power and the future of our capable country.
