Serhiy Berezutskyi, a military analyst and specialist in armored vehicles, shared his thoughts on how the enemy gained access to the unique knowledge and experience of Ukrainian defense industry workers.

One of the possible ways for an aggressor to obtain information about the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex and modern military equipment is to lure specialists from Ukraine by the Russians, believes Serhiy Berezutskyi, a military analyst and specialist in armored vehicles. His opinion is given by NV in the expert analysis of Russian clones about what modern Ukrainian weapons the enemy tried to copy, what he succeeded in, and what – not so much.

What weapons the enemy already has in short supply, which ones are in abundance, and what should the Armed Forces of Ukraine do in this situation – expert survey

According to Berezutskyi, low salaries in Ukraine and the frankly unkind attitude of the leadership of the domestic defense-industrial complex towards their specialists led to the fact that at one time a significant number of high-class specialists moved to Russia, where they were given jobs with high salaries, apartments and other preferences.

Entire brigades of ships departed from the same Mykolaiv,” says a military analyst in a comment to NV.

He believes that the current approach “I’ll just whistle – and now there will be a queue of specialists!” turned out to be not just false, but criminal. “Now they are whistling, and there is a catastrophic shortage of qualified specialists. While a significant amount [українських] bearers of unique knowledge and experience are now working for the enemy,” Berezutsky describes the gloomy present.

We will remind you that more and more often there is information that Russia, in addition to using its own and foreign weapons in the war, is trying to copy or reproduce modern Ukrainian developments as much as possible.

For example, at the Army-2024 military-technical exhibition, Russia presented the Murena-300S kamikaze boat, which looks and looks like the well-known Ukrainian multi-purpose Magura V5 marine drone. In particular, the Russians said that their model can cover a distance of 500 km, has a speed of up to 45 knots (83 km/h) and capable of carrying up to 500 kg of payload, primarily explosives.

Another example of Russian imitation was the Chapai remote-controlled machine gun turret presented at the same exhibition, in which the enemy completely repeated the concept of the Ukrainian robotic ShaBla turret. The latter was officially adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of 2024, although Ukrainian defenders have been using this development since the anti-terrorist operation (ATO).

In addition, the Russians are trying to modernize their anti-tank missile systems (ATRK) Bassoon and Cornet, equipping them with a remote control. The presence of the latter brings the Russian ATGMs closer to the Ukrainian Stugna-P anti-tank missile complex, which has also successfully proven itself in the war against the Russian Federation since the days of the ATO.
