Thus, referring to his own sources in the Office of the President and the Office of the Prosecutor General, the author of the article in “Facts”, which was later published on other resources, identifies three – the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, his colleague from Odesa Oleg Kiper, and the deputy head of the Office of the President Iryna Mudra.
However, the matter is not limited to the list of surnames – the journalist gives his vision of their professional and personal advantages and disadvantages.
The latter, in his opinion, are much more.
Kravchenko, it seems, did not prove himself in the position of the head of the OVA, in the “passive” Mudroya – lack of independence and love of luxury, as well as a high-profile scandal, which involved her civilian husband Pavlo Polyarush, who in a drunken state threatened a military man with a weapon. Kiper is also involved in scandals involving holidays abroad during martial law and corruption schemes in the field of agricultural exports in the Odesa region.
From all this, the contributor concludes that, firstly, the situation requires the immediate appointment of a new prosecutor general, and, secondly, a non-public competition for this position from among the mentioned persons is “a choice without a choice”.
As it is not difficult to see, the conclusions contradict each other. Or there is a customer hiding somewhere behind the scenes who would not like the appointment of one of these three specialists.
Contradictions are also found in the argumentation of the article.
Kravchenko demonstrated effective management, if only by bringing the region to the first place in terms of indicators of economic stability of regions, according to the publication “Business Capital”, and also quite harshly put unscrupulous contractors in their place. A similar practice will not be superfluous in the case of a possible job at the OGPU.
Mudra actively works in the international arena, which refutes the thesis about its “independence”.
Oleg Kiper just stopped the export of illegal grain in Odesa.
In view of this, the claims against the mentioned persons look far-fetched and aim only to sow certain doubts about their candidacies.
But in the Office of the President, they really assess the state of affairs, so it is impossible to influence a serious personnel decision with such small “throwaways”.
So, the task of this informational counter-campaign is somewhat different. Let’s assume that this is a banal desire to drag out time so that the Prosecutor General’s chair remains vacant as long as possible. And in this way win a few more weeks for the full operation of a certain cash “flow”.
Perhaps in the gambling business or customs fraud.
The prosecutorial system, which Ukrainian society is waiting for a thorough cleaning from the new head of the department, has managed to find many areas for shadow enrichment over decades.
Perhaps this is a simple coincidence, but the ex-deputy general prosecutor Dmytro Verbytskyi, whose investigation prompted Andriy Kostin’s resignation, has become significantly more active in the information field.
Moreover, he positions himself not only as a fighter against the gambling business, but also almost as a personal enemy of the oligarch Igor Kolomoiskyi.
From all these not-so-clean maneuvers, one reasonable conclusion can be drawn – the issue of appointing a new prosecutor general is indeed overdue. And his main duty in this position, in addition to the destruction of “schemes” under the prosecutor’s “roof”, which is obvious to everyone, is to ensure the reform of the entire system, to make it impossible to use the OGPU as a place for personal enrichment.
