White House: Ukraine can expect new security assistance from the US in the coming days

In the near future, we can expect additional announcements about security assistance for Ukraine, the White House communications advisor in the field of national security, John Kirby, said at a briefing on January 3, Voice of America reports.

He said an announcement could come “in the coming days” but did not elaborate on the potential aid package.

Kirby also assumed the possibility of holding the next meeting to support Ukraine in the Rammstein format during the term of US President Joe Biden and before the inauguration of the newly elected president on January 20.

On December 30, the United States announced a package of defense aid to Ukraine in the amount of almost 2.5 billion dollars.

The package will help “the Ukrainian people to continue to defend their independence and freedom against Russian aggression,” US President Joe Biden said at the time.

Earlier, the American media reported that the USA was preparing a new aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 1.25 billion dollars.
