“Porcelain War” (Porcelain War), created in the co-production of the USA, Ukraine and Australia. American Brendan Bellomo and Ukrainian and one of the main characters of the film Slava Leontiev became the directors of the film.
This film tells the story of three artists from Kharkiv, who remain in the front-line city, despite the threat of encirclement and capture by Russian troops. Despite the danger, they fill the city with art: they make porcelain figurines that decorate houses destroyed by Russian shelling.
The film premiered at the Sundance International Independent Film Festival in January 2024, where it won the Grand Prix of the Documentary Competition. The film has already won 37 awards and 27 nominations at international film festivals.
Short film “Once in Ukraine” (Once upon a Time in Ukraine) directed by Betsy West about the life of children in wartime was shortlisted in the nomination “Best Documentary Short Film”. The tape was co-produced by Ukraine and the USA.
