On November 26, 2025, his body was found on the territory of a local college, where a unit of the academy was temporarily located due to the threat of rocket attacks.
The police qualified the event as driving a minor to commit suicide under Part 3 of Art. 120 of the Criminal Code, which threatens the guilty with 7-10 years of imprisonment.
Investigators found signs of abuse shortly before the tragedy.
“Actions were committed that have clear signs of humiliation of human dignity, physical or mental violence against the victim,” the police of the Rivne region said.
Senior cadets, according to the investigation, beat freshmen, forced them to eat from the dirty floor and drink oil, and then forced them to swallow vomit.
A relative of the deceased, Daria Melnyk, shocked the network with details: “They were beaten, forced to eat from the dirty floor, drink oil, vomit and then eat it again. My brother couldn’t stand it and hanged himself on the statutory sheet.”
The boy complained to his relatives about the toxic atmosphere, but did not contact the command or the law enforcement officers. Anonymous fellow students confirmed the systematic pressure on new recruits, due to which some plan to transfer or leave the service.
