French President Emmanuel Macron, after meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington, spoke with Prime Minister Cyrus Starm and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
“Returning from Washington, I spoke with Prime Minister Kir Star, then with President Vladimir Zelensky. We are determined to work for the sake of strong and long peace in Ukraine, ”Macron wrote on the social network X. (Twitter) on Tuesday, February 25.

On February 24, The Times reported that the UK Prime Minister, Kir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron, during his meetings with US President Donald Trump, would call him to abandon bilateral peace talks with Russia.
On the same day, French President arrived in the White House to negotiate with Donald Trump. The Guardian wrote that Macron wants to persuade US President to save “A certain degree of military intervention ”in the situation in Ukraine and throughout Europe.
After the negotiations, Emmanuel Macron stated that the truce between Ukraine and Russia could be reached in the coming weeks.
He also said that after the conclusion of a peace agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, the garant country will undertake to provide security guarantees, and the violation of the agreements by Russia will lead to conflict with all the states that contributed to its conclusion.
In addition, Macron stated that France and the United Kingdom have developed a plan for providing Ukraine with security guarantees, which may include the location of European military in the Ukrainian territory.
On February 25, Reuters said that Trump and Macron showed friendliness to each other during their meeting at the White House, but demonstrated sharp differences in their approaches before the war was completed in Ukraine.
