The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, Shri Randhir Jaiswal, on Thursday, September 19, denied the information that Indian-made ammunition is supplied to Ukraine, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“We saw the Reuters report. It is speculative and misleading. It implies violations on India’s part, which do not exist, and is therefore inaccurate and harmful,” the Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The department emphasized that India has an “impeccable reputation” in complying with international obligations regarding the export of military and dual-purpose goods.
“India conducts its defense exports in compliance with its international non-proliferation obligations and on the basis of its own robust legal and regulatory framework, which encompasses a comprehensive assessment of relevant criteria, including end-user obligations and certification,” the Indian MFA representative added.
On September 19, the Reuters agency, citing numerous sources and customs data, reported that European customers have been supplying India-made ammunition to Ukraine for over a year.
The article stated that India has not yet intervened in this trade, which has been going on for more than a year, according to customs.
