Dear Ukrainians, Ukrainian women!
Rescue operations continued all day today in Kryvyi Rih after a Russian ballistic missile strike. Four people were killed by this strike. My condolences to family and friends. Fourteen people were injured, they were given the necessary assistance. And such strikes, such losses simply would not have happened if we had received all the necessary air defense systems, which we have been talking about with our partners for so long and which are available in the world.
Held a meeting of the Stavka today. The questions are different, but in general – about our independence in weapons. The production of drones, the missile program, technological components for the army, in particular robotic systems. We are working on larger purchases and larger scale production in Ukraine. We are grateful to all partners who help us.
A delegation of Slovak parliamentarians headed by Michal Shimechka was in Kyiv today. We talked about our cooperation, in particular in energy. We are ready for open and honest work with Slovakia – as with all partners – for the sake of energy security and more comfortable energy prices. Now some actors are spreading a lot of misinformation, but after the terms of the Russian transit simply ended, the reality is simple: only relations with Europe’s partners and its own work for energy independence can help Europe. We must work for our peoples, not for Moscow. And I am glad that the Slovak side, as we heard today at the negotiations, supports it. Especially before the start of the new American policy of President Trump regarding the supply of much larger volumes of energy resources to the world market.
Today, he met with the leadership of the ministries of foreign affairs of the countries of South-Eastern Europe. We talked about mutual support – about our security, our economy, human capital and our relations within the European Union and NATO. They know exactly what the threat of destabilization from Russia is. And they know what is necessary for joint protection.
And one more thing.
Awarded state awards to our soldiers. Paratroopers and soldiers of the Special Operations Forces who captured the first North Korean soldiers. He presented them with orders and handed over the Hero of Ukraine “Golden Star” order to the mother of senior soldier Dmytro Maslovsky, call sign Cobra, 71st separate hunting brigade. A guy who died heroically in a battle with the occupier in Donetsk region. Many have seen the video of this fight. It was exemplary bravery of a Ukrainian soldier. Eternal memory and honor to him. And to all our heroes, all our people who gave their lives so that Ukraine would live.
