Details: Von Der Liaien believes that the suspension of US assistance gives a signal of the European Union that it is necessary to strengthen its own assistance to Kiev.

“For us, it is a clear signal, a clear message about the need to strengthen our own support. It is about increasing European defense capabilities – not only at the European Union level, but at the continental level,” von Der Lyen said.
She recalled that the European Union had already provided military support to Ukraine for about 50 billion euros, including military equipment.
“Denmark has shown an example since the beginning of the war, how it can be done-from such an artillery to, for example, F-16 aircraft,” the President of the European Commission gave an example.
“For my part, I can only recommend to use the SAFE tool now. It is available 150 billion euros. Member States can use these funds to either purchase military equipment and transfer it to Ukraine, or invest these funds in the extremely efficient defense industry of Ukraine,” Ursula Der Lien urged.
