Roost in 2017 was selected for the forces of special operations in Estonia, joined the unit and in 2020 participated in a foreign operation in Mali.
He remained in the special operations forces until 2023, when he left his service at his own request. After that, he volunteered to Ukraine, where he fought in the ranks of the 3rd Special Purpose Regiment.
“He went abroad to protect peace in his homeland, risking life and giving everything to the war to come to us. We respect his memory high and we will never forget his contribution,” the statement said.
