President Volodymyr Zelenskyi held a meeting with the bipartisan delegation of the United States Congress.
The meeting was attended by members of the House of Representatives Jim Costa, Jimmy Panetta, Saljud Carbajal (Democrat) and Don Bacon (Republican), Ohio Republican Senator (2011-2023) Rob Portman, Republican candidate for Congress in the 2024 election year Troy Downing.
The head of state noted the visit of congressmen to Ukraine.
“I want to thank the President and the US Congress for their bipartisan support from the beginning of this war. Thank you for passing a very important bill in Congress. I hope that all this will reach Ukraine as soon as possible and strengthen our army. And we are grateful to all Americans for supporting our country,” he said.
The head of state reminded that in the near future he plans to personally present the plan for Ukraine’s victory to US President Joseph Biden and the presidential candidates from the Republican and Democratic parties.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke in detail about the situation on the front line and the priority needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
During the meeting, they discussed the key areas of further American assistance in the field of security and defense. The priority is to obtain additional air defense systems, missiles for them and permission to use long-range weapons for the military purposes of the Russian Federation.
