President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi held meetings with the Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres and the Chairman of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the Prime Minister of Cameroon (2009–2019) Philemon Young.
The head of state emphasized: Ukraine hopes that the UN will respond to the needs of Ukrainians in the humanitarian sphere, in particular during preparations for the winter period.
Among the topics discussed by the President and the UN Secretary General are the implementation of the Peace Formula, the security situation in the country and freedom of navigation in the Black Sea. This is important for the continued functioning of transport corridors and the unimpeded export of Ukrainian agricultural products to global markets.
During the meeting with Philemon Young, Volodymyr Zelenskyi noted that Ukraine is ready to cooperate effectively to implement the priorities of the chairman of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
“It is important for Ukraine that during the 79th session of the General Assembly, under your chairmanship, annual debates are held within the framework of the Ukrainian item “Situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine”, as well as that our annual resolution on the situation with human rights in the temporarily occupied territories is adopted territories of Ukraine,” the President emphasized.
The head of state also called on Philemon Young to support the Peace Formula and invited him to visit Ukraine.
