Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Josep Borrell discussed increasing military aid from the EU

President Volodymyr Zelensky met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, who came to Ukraine on a visit for the fifth time since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

“Thank you that during this war you were always one hundred percent absolutely on our side, on the side of Ukraine, on the side of the Ukrainian people. You do not need to tell about the details of this war, because you were constantly in Ukraine during difficult days. We could always count on you,” the President said.

He noted that during his visits, Josep Borrell always visits the regions as well, in particular, he visited Chernihiv Oblast yesterday.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyi thanked the European Union and EU member states for the assistance to Ukraine.

Separately, he expressed gratitude to the European Union for the initiative to provide 1 million artillery ammunition. The partners will fully implement it by the end of this year.

The key topics of the meeting are further cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, increasing military aid, lifting restrictions on strikes on military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, unblocking support within the European Peace Fund and completing all procedures for providing Ukraine with $50 billion in accordance with the G7 decision.
