In Brussels, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with the President of France Emmanuel Macron. This is their eighth meeting this year.

The head of the Ukrainian state expressed his condolences in connection with the tragedy on the French island of Mayotte, which was caused by the cyclone “Shydo”.

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Emmanuel Macron for his personal efforts to consolidate international support around Ukraine. Establishing a just peace for our country also means guaranteeing security for all other European countries.

The main topics discussed during the meeting were military aid and the needs of Ukrainian soldiers. The President of Ukraine handed over a list of what is needed for defenders on the battlefield, as well as for strengthening air defense and long-range capabilities.

He thanked France for all the defense support provided, the total amount of which is more than 5 billion euros, participation in most of the “Ramstein” coalitions and the training of the “Anna Kyivska” brigade. Ukraine is counting on the start of training of the second brigade of the strategic reserve.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi also emphasized that Ukraine appreciates the support of France on the way to European integration.
